Originally from the US, former contemporary dancer Holly Gruver has created WGRUV Dance International, a contemporary ballet company formed to build into the arts climate in South Africa one brick at a time. Her hope is to establish a strong classical contemporary ballet company that communicates beauty, depth and soul.

 

With Johannesburg Arts Conservatory already established as a strong training school, assisting serious dancers toward their professional career goals, the trajectory toward a new company can provide more career opportunities toward professional career establishment.

 

WGRUV Dance has the same ethos as JAC including working with integrity, care, and around the stability of what is true about us and true about the world. Holly is passionate about looking for dancers who are hungry for continued learning, participation and hard work. The spirit of humility is essential, as true humility isn’t weakness but strength working its way out through self-control and concern for others.
