Lisa Stapelberg
Lisa Stapelberg is a South African dancer from Johannesburg who began her dance training at the age of three. She trained at several respected studios, including Turning Point, Wilcarina & Annabelle’s School of Dance, Dantz in Motion, Adeline’s School of Dance, and Karen’s Acrobats, developing a versatile foundation in ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, Spanish dance, musical theatre, and acrobatics.
Throughout her training, Lisa competed extensively at both regional and national levels and was awarded a scholarship to attend the American Academy of Ballet Summer School in New York. She also participated in the South African International Ballet Competition Intensive and completed the Joburg Ballet Aspirant Programme in 2022. Lisa has performed in professional productions with Joburg Ballet, including Don Quixote and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and has toured internationally with WGRUV Dance Company to Spain. Alongside her dance career, she holds a National Diploma in Early Childhood Development from Montessori College South Africa, equipping her with both the artistic and educational foundations that support her work as a teacher.
Lisa is a First Artist with WGRUV Dance Company and teaches within the JAC Kids programme, where she is passionate about nurturing and inspiring the next generation of young dancers.
