Marlon Sales
Marlon Sales is a Brazilian-born professional ballet artist from Rio de Janeiro who began his dance journey at the age of 12 through a small community school project, before starting formal ballet training the following year. During his formative years, he participated in several international competitions, including the Youth America Grand Prix in New York. In 2016, Marlon joined Washington Ballet as part of the Trainee Program, marking the beginning of his professional career.
Marlon went on to work in Russia for two years with the Mariinsky Theatre Primorsky Stage, touring internationally and performing major classical works from the traditional ballet repertoire—an experience that stands as one of the most formative of his career. In recent years, he has appeared as a guest artist with Ballet Zürich in Switzerland and Joburg Ballet in South Africa, further expanding his international performance profile.
Marlon is a First Artist with WGRUV Dance Company and teaches alongside performing. He is also an active member of the marketing team, working in social media management and video creation, and contributes to the management team through administrative work, accounting, and data analysis.
"Being part of WGRUV is a real blessing. I have found a space where I can truly be myself while constantly being challenged to grow. Here, I am able to continue dancing and training at a high level while also building a life beyond the stage—preparing for the future, while giving my best to the work today.”
