Javier Monier

Javier Monier is a Cuban-born professional ballet dancer who began his formal dance training in 2002 at the age of nine. His early career was marked by international competitive success, earning Gold and Bronze medals at the Cuban International Dance Competition, Silver at the South African International Ballet Competition, Bronze at the Shanghai International Ballet Competition, and Silver at the Korean International Ballet Competition. Javier also performed in an international gala honouring the legendary Alicia Alonso. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Dance from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, completed through the Instituto Universitario de Danza Alicia Alonso.

Javier has danced with a number of international companies, including Etoile Ballet Theatre in Italy, Tivoli Ballet in Denmark, Ireland National Ballet, and Crea Dance Company under the direction of Maria Rovira in Barcelona. In South Africa, he has performed with Joburg Ballet and Mzansi Ballet. He is currently working with WGRUV Dance Company.

Within WGRUV, Javier serves as a First Artist, Teacher, and Manager of the JAC Pre-Professional Programme, contributing both artistically and structurally to the growth of the company.
