Saili Gruver
Saili Gruver is a professional dancer, educator, and creative leader born in the United States, who has lived in South Africa for nearly 13 years - a place that has profoundly shaped both her life and artistry.
She began dancing at the age of three in Texas, but it was after relocating to South Africa that she recognised dance as a professional calling. Saili began her professional career at the age of 16 and has since had the privilege of performing works by a range of inspiring South African and international choreographers, experiences that have deeply formed her both artistically and personally.
Saili has been part of WGRUV Dance Company since its inception, growing alongside the company as both an artist and a leader. In addition to performing, she teaches ballet in the JAC Kids programme, works as a conditioning trainer, and manages the company’s administrative operations, playing an integral role in sustaining and strengthening the WGRUV community.
WGRUV is more than Saili’s artistic home - it is deeply personal. Being part of a company led by her mother has been both a profound gift and a meaningful responsibility, shaping her growth with humility, resilience, and courage.
Anchored by her faith in Jesus, Saili approaches both life and dance with integrity and purpose, seeking to be a light in an industry that can often feel demanding and competitive.
“Dance is where I pour much of my energy, but my faith is the foundation of my life. Everything I do flows from that place, and I strive to create space for hope, joy, and authenticity through my work.”
